St. Luke's Episcopal Church, whose parish was established in 1753, was built in 1827-1828 by Hillsborough mason and builder John Berry.   The Gothic Revival building underwent numerous additions which eventually resulted in its current cruciform plan.  It is located at the corner of North Church and West Council Streets.
