Multi-Alarm 3 Duplex Apartment Fire 11-26-2005 |

The Salisbury Fire Department fought a duplex apartment fire on 11-26-05. There was 3 duplex apartment involved in this fire, 2 being exposures and the one being the fire origin. The call went to a second alarm and companies from Locke FD (RIT) , Franklin FD, South Salisbury, Spencer FD, Landis FD , Faith FD and Granite Quarry FD were requested and dispatched to assisted in attack, salvage, overhaul in the RIT role. The Rowan County Rescue Squad supported the operations with SCBA cylinder re-fills, rehab and medical support. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Elizabeth Hanford Dole Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted the displaced families with their needs. A volunteer crew of Salisbury Firefighters provided fire watch during the cold night. This provided relief to the on-duty personnel to get some rest as well as being free to answer other calls. |
