As the Department Director, Gail is responsible for overseeing the department operations, planning, programming and maintenance. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware and has worked in the Parks and Recreation field for 26 years.  She started her career in New Castle County, Delaware working as a Recreation Specialist in adult athletics and aquatic programs. After eight years, she moved to a Recreation Supervisor position overseeing general recreation programming for half of the county.   In 1994, Gail accepted the Assistant Director position in Mecklenburg County overseeing total operations of one third of the county.  On December 11, 1996 she joined the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department. Working with the talented staff of the Parks and Recreation department,  in 2000 Salisbury became the second of five nationally accredited departments in the State of North Carolina in recognition of the hard work and dedication here in Salisbury. Gail is married to Andy and has two children Matt, 22 and Stacey, 20.
